I guess the adage is true, you get what you pay for. I just installed one of these fixtures and was underwhelmed by the low quality. The fixture base is so flimsy that when you mount it to the ceiling is easily distorts it's shape and as a result the cover and retaining ring can barely be mounted to it. I bought two so I won't even try to install the second one. The light itself attaches to the base with magnets. They are not sufficient to keep it in place.I ordered this light for my kitchen as my daughter had bought one, and I liked it, and it put out good light. When we put it up, it looked modern and great, but it did not provide enough light for me. I have a larger kitchen than my daughter with darker surfaces that must have absorbed the light. My husband took it down, and he put it up in the laundry room, where it is now bright and cheery. It is a huge improvement to this smaller area (approx 12 x 8 ft.).
